Come join us for a special event to commemorate International Students’ Day and the November 1989 Velvet Revolution. This day marks an important moment in history when students played a crucial role in the fight for freedom and democracy. Let’s celebrate this special day together!
The evening will feature:
A panel discussion “Generation of freedom: what did November 89 give us?” with contributions from H.E. Peter Susko, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the United Kingdom, and representatives of the young Slovak diaspora in the UK – Simona Vrabcová, Karin Popovičová, Gabriel Lovás and Peter Mikitič.
The programme will also include the launch of the book Student Odyssey and signing by its author, Jozef Leikert.
You can look forward to musical performance by saxophonist Alžběta Greenwood-Byrne.
The evening will be moderated by Jana Nahodilová (BCSA chair).
Refreshments will be provided following the event.
