Members' servicesThis section describes our members' services explains how to join the BCSA.
BCSA Review Magazine
The Review is now an established magazine that provides information about recent developments in British Czech and Slovak relations i.e. the sort of coverage that rarely features in the mainstream media in the UK. It has a trusty circle of expert contributors who report on and analyse important events.
Garden Party and Annual Dinner
Our two main social and fund-raising events each year are the Garden Party, held in the communal garden of the Czech and Slovak Embassies in the summer, and the Annual Dinner, which is held in a London Hotel in November.
"Get to know you" social events
We organise a series of social events to provide an opportunity for BCSA members, supporters and friends to meet. These are normally held at the Czech and Slovak National House, West Hampstead.
Educational talks
The BCSA organises a series of talks on various aspects of Czech and Slovak culture to raise awareness of these in Britain. These talks are open to members of the general public and are usually held at either the Czech or Slovak Embassy.
Website
This website is updated regularly to keep members informed of new events and to promote the BCSA to prospective members.
News by email
Our Review magazine and website are the main ways we communicate with our members but there are occasions when we do not have enough time to use those methods, for example when we are notified of an event at short notice. In these cases we will use the BCSA News email service to inform our members about the event. This service is provided via Yahoo! Groups which means that each member controls their own membership details, e.g. whether to receive emails and, if so, which email address to use. Members can leave the BCSA News service at any time.
